Process for the measurement of mass flow rate using the Coriolis principle and mass flow rate measuring apparatus using the Coriolis principle
Process for the measurement of mass flow rate using the Coriolis principle and mass flow rate measuring apparatus using the Coriolis principle
In the method for mass flow measurement according to the Coriolis principle, an elastically deformable measuring tube (1) through which fluid flows is periodically deflected. As a measure of the mass flow, phase shifts between deflections of sections of the measuring tube wall (2) are measured, which are arranged differently in the direction of flow. For this purpose, the cross-section of the measuring tube (1) is periodically deformed in such a way that parts of the measuring tube wall (2) which are diametrically opposite to one another are deflected transversely to the direction of flow of the fluid by approximately the same distance in opposite or the same direction. This method can be carried out with a simply constructed mass flow meter, the operation of which largely prevents the center of gravity of the measuring device from moving, and which is also suitable for large nominal diameters.
