This tibial intramedullary nail designed in one piece has proximal (2) and distal (3) end parts angled relative to the central part (1). The proximal end part (2) is angled at the angle alpha = -20 DEG and the distal end part (3) is angled at the angle ss = +3 DEG from the central axis (4) of the central part (1). The proximal end part (2) has a length A of 142 mm. The proximal end part (2), which is designed very much longer compared to the state of the art (Herzog curvature), penetrates very much earlier into the medullary cavity and in this way prevents excessive flection or bending stress of the intramedullary nail. The distal end part (3) serves, for driving the intramedullary nail into the posterior cortical bone, as a sliding carriage. …IMAGE…
