The disc (7) is pivoted concentrically with the driven wheel (3) and can be displaced through an angle w.r.t. it. The two are coupled together by a stud (5) abutting against either end of a slot (6) in the disc (7) after a predetermined distance of travel. The programme of operation of the reed switch (14) is set by the arrangementof V-notches (8) in the rim of the disc (7), into which a projection (11) from the edge of a control lever (9) carrying a magnet (12) is driven by a resilient spring. ADVANTAGE - Has robust mechanism, easily assembled from few components, and performs precise and abrupt switching despite slow relative movements. Can operate in either direction, with programme changeable simply by replacement of disc.
