Power supply circuitry combining solar cell and sec. cell battery - charges lithium cells with capacitor for short duration back-up to overcome recharge delay after long dark periods
A solar energy cell (1) provides an output via a voltage limiting stage (2) to a main rechargable lithium battery that has two stages (3a, 3b). A second energy storage device is provided in the form of a capacitor (7) With a short duration high power capacity. The storage devices are coupled by a charge control circuit (5) with a transistor that permits one way current flow from the main memory to the second. The transistor is switched by a control stage (15). Coupled to the capacitor is an oscillator (8) and drive stages (9) connected to a liquid crystal cell. USE/ADVANTAGE - Electrical or electronic appts. Can supply power until battery is charged up again.
