A chain carrier in particular for two-end profiling machines and robots for machining edges is comprised of links (4), forming an endless chain providing a continuous carrier surface driven by chain rollers, connected by side plates (8) and bolts (9) parallel and bearing on two parallel fixed rails. What is considered to be new is that one of the rails is a guiding bar (2, 6, 11) which forms a guiding prism (6, 4a, 11, 4a) with the links (4), whereas the other rail is a support bar (3; 12) and that the side plates (8) and the bolts (9) are located under the plane of the support rails between the guiding bar and the support bar.
