The support sheet for the green ceramic sheet comprises organic material, in particular polyethylene, polyester, polycarbonate or polystyrene and contains zirconium oxide. The zirconium oxide is present in the support sheet either as filler, i.e. introduced in the production of the support sheet, or present as a surface coating on the support sheet. The process for sintering green ceramic sheet provides for, after the production of a strip of green ceramic sheet on a zirconium oxide-containing strip of support sheet (tape), the strip of green ceramic sheet together with the associated zirconium oxide-containing strip of support sheet to be divided into pieces appropriate to the product and for these to be sintered in a stack.
