Prepn. of pasty materials - neutralising or precalcining before rotary kiln burning

Moist pasty materials, specially raw cement meal slurry, are heat treated by a pretreatment including predrying, neutralising and/or precalcining. The final treatment is effected in a calciner and a rotary kiln. ADVANTAGE - This results in a considerable redn. of the energy costs per kg of material treated and in a higher throughput due to the redn. of the heating time required.
