摘要
Environmentally harmful industrial waste, esp. mineral residues, e.g., filter dust from purificn. of flue gas from refuse incinerators and industiral furnaces, is processed by compacting the dust with binders. The dust is converted to stackable blocks, pref. with grooves and tongues, pref. by the sand-lime brick method, pref. using sand, cement and additives as binder. The mix contains up to 80, pref. 67-63 (wt.)% dust, up to 32, pref. 30-28% sand and upt to 10, pref. 7-9% sand. The additive pref. is bitumen or epoxide resin. The blocks are transported to a dump and stacked regularly, leaving access passages for control and shafts to the inside of the dump, which pref. is above ground. The blocks are marked to indicate their origin. USE/ADVANTAGE - Highly toxic industrial dust can be converted to a harmless prod., which is compatible with the environment. The compaction process is simple and economical and the prods. need not be kept in speical dumps.
