Method and device for flame sterilisation of glass vessels

In order to achieve quick and uniform heating-up of the inner and/or outer surfaces of glass vessels to the sterilisation temperature and to cool the vessels again thereafter without the glass breaking, the inner and/or outer surfaces of the glass vessels are briefly brought to a temperature of at least 300@C by means of burners and subsequently cooled again. For this purpose, the burners are repeatedly passed in timed fashion along the inner and/or outer surface, whereas cooling also takes place in timed fashion in several temperature stages by means of cooling air or by means of a cooling water aerosol.
