Process for producing dry- and wet-cleanable silk fabrics

The invention relates to a process for producing dry- and wet-cleanable silk fabrics by treating silk fabrics with a fluororesin-containing water-repellent (hydrophobicising agent) in two successive steps. The silk fabrics produced according to the invention are, inter alia, highly soil-repellent, water-repellent, crease-free, shrinkage-resistant, colour-fast and hard-wearing and, what is more, exhibit an excellent silky consistency.
