An easily handled and inexpensive method for voice communication, image and sound recording and transmission via a telephone channel of a telecommunication or a communication satellite for television and press reporting which can be quickly implemented. The image is recorded at the original scene by means of an electronic still-frame storage camera of the size of a normal small film camera on diskette or similar data carrier; the sound is recorded by means of commercially available analog or digital devices; the image is transmitted by means of a data transmission device via a telephone channel of a telecommunication or communication satellite to the data receiving system at one or more destinations for storage and further processing; the sound is transmitted in analog or digital form via the same telephone channel; the voice communication occurs in analog form by means of commercially available devices via the same telephone channel. The devices to be used at the original scene are battery-operated, can be accommodated in a container of the size of a briefcase and easily operated on location. The technical complexity of this method is minimum in comparison with that necessary in normal television reporting.
