The invention relates to a coffee filter which as well as brewing coffee also prepares eggs at the same time, and also in the oblique position of the coffee machine ensures all-over water distribution and exposure of the surface of the coffee grounds to water, the brewing water supplied being guided and distributed without pressure by level and inclined sections of the base of the insertion funnel in such a way that, for hygienic reasons, it does not come into contact with the surface of the eggs. The brewing-water supply 1 passes through the guiding conduit 28 into the collecting bowl 8, which fills immediately. On further admission of brewing water, the water flows over level and inclined sections of the base 7 through outlet openings 15 distributed over the area onto the surface of the coffee grounds 18. The coffee grounds 18 are situated in a cylindrical cup filter 19 with flared flange 20 in a lower part 21 of the filter. The flavour-rich coffee 25 runs out of the outlet opening 24 into the coffee pot. The liberated superheated steam 32 from the volume chambers 33, 34 heats the inner funnel 27 of the insertion funnel 6 so intensely that the desired hardness of the eggs 26 is obtained by the existing energy.
