Force-multiplying operational drive device to be fitted to a bicycle for the purpose of reducing the load at the pedal and bottom bracket assembly or any other multiplying producing means. The use of the principle of the knee joint is demonstrated, the original feature of which is to produce a progressive power in step with the moving-apart of its two branches generated either by a manual pressure or by a mechanical pressure on the spindle connecting the two branches. 1 represents the pedal and bottom bracket assembly, 2 bis represents the second arm of the knee joint actuating the pedal and bottom bracket assembly, 3 represents the spindle joining the two arms of the knee joint, 4 represents a fixed support acting as a pivot for the double, circular-arc-shaped lever 6 whose work is to produce its load in order to bring about the moving-apart of the two branches by means of the roller 5 connected to the branch 2 by a support 5 bis, this double lever being actuated by the pedal 7.
