Modular profiles pref. of PVC for window surrounds in coach-building - comprises capping piece anchored with flexible strip to hollow profile

Surrounds for glazed panels such as bay windows in vehicles comprise a pair of vertical pillars and a pair of crossbars each of which comprises a hollow profile on which is anchored a capping piece with a flexible strip to bear upon one face of the glass and mask its borders and any associated seal. The border of the capping piece is pref. relieved to provide a tongue to engage an ancillary profile which is interchangable to suit variations in the overall dimensions of e.g. the bodies of coaches or other surroundings. The frame profiles, capping pieces and bridging strips are pref. extruded profiles of plastics materials, esp. PVC. USE - Allows use of modular panels of glass and associated frames to simplify design and assembly. Adaptable to suit various sizes or styles of vehicle using the same basic components.
