The javelin has a point (1) and a flight (2) which is constituted of light elements (4), such as feathers. The ends (8) of the rods (5) of these elements are held in one part (7) of a shaft (3). The shaft's other part (9) is rigid and is fixed to the point. The two parts of the shaft are joined together by a threaded end (15) on the part fixed to the point, which screws into a threaded hole (14), in the other part. This part has a reinforcing ring (13) round the hole. The ring's upper end (19) is narrower than the hole. USE - For use in sports in which it is thrown at a target.
