Packaging box - has common precut and prescored cardboard base with alternative fold lines for fabrication of either lid or base

The cardboard box has a base and a lid which are both formed from the same design of prescored and precut card. The flat card preform has a rectangular shape with a central base area (6), two folding sides (8,10) and two folding ends (7,9). The sides and ends (7,8,9,10) may be folded about either an inner scored line (15) or an outer scored line (16). The corners (11,12,13,14) of the ends (7,9) may be folded inwards to form flaps which are fixed to the inside of the sides (8,10) to create the lid and base of the box. Either the lid or base will be slightly larger than the other so that they can slide inside each other. ADVANTAGE - The box lid and base can both be produced from one common preform thus simplifying manufacture and reducing the amount of tooling required. (10pp Dwg.No.2/4)
