Device for representing the effects of the overall movement of the Earth in the solar system, including a sphere 1 symbolising the terrestrial globe, an opaque, hollow half-sphere 2 nesting into a half of the sphere and symbolising night, extended at its lower part by a transparent, spherical half-cap 3 and a support 4 for the sphere and for the half-sphere, the half-sphere and the half-cap having a series of holes 9a, 9b, 9c for the passage of a shaft for mounting the sphere on the support which are positioned in such a way as to give the half-sphere an inclination which is representative of a given declination, the half-sphere/half-cap assembly externally bearing two studs which can be placed in various recesses formed in the support in such a way as to reproduce a given right ascension.
