An eddy-current heater operates by moving a permanent magnet (1) past an iron cylinder (5) of a given thickness. The generated eddy currents will dissipate their energy completely into heat which is transmitted to the surrounding water jacket (6) by conduction. The rotating shaft (2) carrying the magnet (1) is wind driven. The dimensions of the heater is determined by the shaft speed for a given magnetic flux density in the air gap between the magnet and the iron cylinder. This heater can be used for supplementing the work of solar heaters of domestic and general heating purposes. IMAGE
