Trap for crabs, lobsters and like crustacea

A trap for crabs, lobsters and such consists of a circular base frame (11) overlaid by a floor (12) of net or plastics material. A circular ring carrier (15) has an array of fingers (17) thereon, and is linked to the base by links (14) or flexible ties so that the fingers converge inwards and rest on the floor. A net cover (19) incorporating a float (20) is secured to the carrier ring. When the trap is submerged, the float holds the trap in operative condition so that animals can enter via the wall of fingers by inwards deflection thereof. The trap automatically collapses flat for storage. IMAGE
