QUALITY EVALUATION OF PITCH FOR SPINNING CARBON YARN

摘要

PURPOSE:To accurately and rapidly evaluate qualities of pitches at a stage of raw material by making a raw material pitch for spinning carbon yarn in a heat-resistant container having a flat face into ash and determining the ash by optical image treatment. CONSTITUTION:A raw material pitch for spinning carbon yarn is made into ash in a heat-resistant container having one or more flat faces into ash and the ash contained in the raw material pitch is collected as ash particles stuck to the faces. Then an optical image in a given zone of the faces to which the ash particles stuck is formed, the image is subjected to digital image treatment utilizing raster scan of television so that ash content contained in the given zone is quantitatively measured to determine suitability of raw material pitch as spinning raw material.
