LIGHTNING POINT AND FAULT POINT LOCATING SYSTEM AND LOCATING APPARATUS FOR TRANSMISSION LINE

PURPOSE:To compensate detecting operation through the other detector even if one detector does not function sufficiently by detecting occurrence and occurring point of lightning through two independent detecting functions of lightening point and lightning occurring section. CONSTITUTION:The system comprises means 11a-11c arranged respectively at a plurality of predetermined positions on transmission lines 1, 10a-10g in order to detect a current through respective installing points, means 41a, 41b for receiving signals from current detecting means 11a, 11b arranged at any two points of the plurality of predetermined points and detecting difference of arriving time of output signals from the two current detecting means 11a, 11b, and means 42a, 42b for extracting predetermined low frequency components in the outputs from two current detecting means and detecting the phase difference between them. Since lightning section or point on the transmission line is located according to the outputs from two detecting means, locating accuracy is improved.
