PURPOSE: To make it possible to give the surgical treatment of a prostate gland more precisely by hyperthermia by incorporating a system to form a radiation reflecting screen, and providing a means to protect tissue susceptible to heat from it other than that to be treated. CONSTITUTION: This device is to apply hyperthermia to the destruction of a prostate gland 14. In this case, an oscillating probe 20 is through urethra. The device has heat-resistant systems 22 and 30 to protect the tissue susceptible to heat other than that 12 to be destroyed like a prostate gland 14, which systems consist of the ones 22 and 30 that form radiation, an electromagnetic wave, an electric wave and a reflecting screen.
