METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TESTING TENSION OF CLOTH OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To easily and correctly measure a relation between a tension load and elongation in multi-direction by applying tensile force to sample sealing members provided radially around one point on the top surface of a sample base and detecting the tension load and elongation. CONSTITUTION:The sample sealing members 3 are provided on radial axes having their center at one point on the sample base 1. The members 3 can be moved in their axial directions with ball screws 6 through pulleys 9, belts 12b, etc. The peripheral parts of a sheet sample A such as cloth are fixed to the members 3, which are moved with the ball screws 6 to apply the tensile force. The tension load placed on the sample at this time is detected by load cells 7 and the movement quantities of the members 3, i.e. the elongation of the sample A is detected by unshown encoders provided on the pulleys 15. The relation between the elongation and tension load is easily and correctly found in multi-direction from the measured values.
