PISTON SLAP PREVENTING DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To reduce the noise and abrasion by piston slap by making the angular moment by an oil pressure of a magnitude corresponding to the engine speed act on a piston, and negating the angular moment causing the piston slap. CONSTITUTION:When an internal combustion engine is driven, a lubricating oil from an oil pump is supplied to an oil channel 11 to lubricate the sliding surfaces of a crank shaft 4 and a metal 7. The lubricating oil is also supplied to an oil pressure chamber 10 through an oil port 12 and a communicating port 13 to lubricate the sliding surfaces of a piston 2 and a metal 6. The lubricating oil is further injected through an injection port 14 to cool a piston 1. The pressure of the lubricating oil within the oil pressure chamber 10 is made act on a pressure receiving surface 8a formed on the channel 8 of a piston pin 2, whereby an angular moment in the opposite direction to the angular moment causing a piston slap is made act on the piston 1. Hence, the occurrence of the piston slap is restrained to reduce the noise and abrasion.
