PREPARATION OF VULCANIZED RUBBER HAVIND REDUCED HYSTERESIS LOSS, AND MOLDED ARTICLE OF SAID RUBBER

PURPOSE: To easily provide a carbon black-filled vulcanized rubber with a reduced hysteresis loss by adding a designated amount of carbon black and diphenyl sulfide to unvulcanized rubber under a specific condition, followed by vulcanization. ;CONSTITUTION: (A) Unvulcanized rubber, (B) carbon black of 10-120 wt.% based on component A and (C) diphenyl sulfide (e.g.; formula II) of 0.1-10 wt.% based on component A shown by formula I (R¹-R³ are H, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, a 1-8C alkyl, 1-8C alkoxy or nitro; R⁹, R¹⁰ are H, a 1-18C alkyl, 2-18C alkenyl, 5-12C cycloankyl and alkenyl or the like) are prepared. Then, the component B and component C are added to the component A at a melting temperature of at least 140°C, and at a shear rate of 1-1,000 sec^-1, by the method that the component B of at least 10 wt.% based on the component A is added before a molecular weight of the rubber shows a remarkable decrease, followed by vulcanizing them to provide the carbon black-packed vulcanized rubber.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
