PURPOSE:To stabilize an ejecting direction and suppress generation of streaks or irregularities in density by developing a steady electrostatic field between an ink and a recording material. CONSTITUTION:With a high-voltage power supply 33 applied, an ink in a recording head 1 is electrified negatively, because it is in contact with a metallic pipe 18. On the other hand, a support plate 31 is electrified positively. When a heat generating element 12 is rapidly heated according to a recording signal, the ink in a nozzle 16 is foamed to generate a bubble 21, which acts to eject a negatively charged liquid droplet 22 against the surface tension of the ink at an opening of the nozzle. Since the support plate 31 is electrified positively, the droplet 22 is attracted by the support plate 31 to be deposited on a recording paper 32 while being restrained from deflection. The construction of the head is not complicated, and there is no need for a considerably high voltage, so that the danger of electric discharge or the like is little.
