PURPOSE: To minimize power consumption and to project images having high luminance and high contrast by providing the system with a holographic information storage plate and a holographic screen character storage plate. CONSTITUTION: A white light beam 22 from a wide band lamp 21 is collimated by a collimater lens 23, and is made into a beam 24, and is made incident on the holographic information storage plate 25, and specified light is diffracted. The plate 25 sends specified incident light to the holographic information storage plate 26, and the plate 26 diffracts the light to the holographic screen character plate 27.
