PURPOSE:To improve the KANJI (Chinese character) display ability so that a sentence containing a KANJI can be displayed at high speed by providing an extention V-RAM for storing a character read-out use address and a KANJI ROM by which data is inputted to a PPU. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a home computer body 10 and a pair of controllers 11, an extension use board cassette 13 and an external storage use cassette 15 which are loads so as to be freely attachable and detachable to and from the computer body 10 are provided. An extension V-RAM 37 of the cassette 13 stores a character read-out use address, and a KANJI (Chinese character) ROM 36 is brought to address designation by an address which is read out of the RAM 37 and an address from a PPU 20 of the body 10 and KANJI data is inputted to the PPU 20. By such a constitution, the KANJI display ability is improved and a sentence containing a KANJI can be displayed at high speed.
