PURPOSE: To make a compound useful as a combustibility inhibitor for hard or flexible isocyanate base foam, by blending ammonium sulfate and, if necessary, a weakly basic powder. ;CONSTITUTION: (C) The combustibility inhibitor is obtained by blending (a) 100 parts by weight of ammonium sulfate with (b) 5-100 parts of a weakly basic powder selected from among (i) a hydroxide of an alkali earth metal and (ii) a cyanuric acid derivative which is cyanamide, melamine, and (bi) guanidine. (A) An organic polyisocyanate (e.g. toluene diisocyanate) and (B) a polyvalent compound (e.g. acrylonitrile branched polyether polyol) in which the equivalent weights of the NCO group of the A component and the OH group of the B component are NCO/OH=0.9-1.2 are reacted together in the presence of the C component containing 50-150 parts of the (a) component for 100 parts of the B component and, if necessary, (D) a catalyst, a surfactant, a foaming agent such as water, and halohydrocarbon or a similar material to obtain isocyanate base foam.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
