PURPOSE:To make a record into high density and to perform a fast processing by modulating the energy of a laser beam to irradiate a recording medium, and forming aperture parts with different size corresponding to the energy on the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Plural bits of information are recorded on one irradiating area of a light beam by modulating the energy of an irradiation light beams and changing the size of the aperture part formed on the recording medium. For example, five signals can be written on one laser irradiation part on the recording medium by forming five kinds of aperture parts with different size on one recording part by the power modulation of the laser beam. Also, since different reflectance can be set by changing the size of the aperture part, five kinds of recording states corresponding to the reflectance can be read. In such a way, it is possible to make the recording into high density and to perform the fast processing.
