PURPOSE:To obtain the resolver whose detection accuracy is stable even if the external form accuracy of a rotor is rough to some extent by providing proximity sensors placed orthogonally to each other in opposing to the outside periphery of the rotor provided on a rotation axis being eccentric to the rotation axis center. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 1 is a disk centering around the center 15, and installed so as to have some offset 8 from the rotation center 7. In the periphery of the rotor 1, proximity sensors 3, 4 are placed so that its tips come to an equal distance from the rotation center 7, and also, a gap interval to the rotor 1 always enters into a measuring range of the proximity sensors 3, 4. In the axis end of the rotor 1, the rotary disk center 15 is attached onto the rotation center 7 with an offset 8 of a distance (a). When the rotor 1 rotates, a detection distance between the side face of the rotor 1 and the proximity sensor head is varied. Outputs of the proximity sensors 3, 4 are obtained as a function of a rotation angle, and this rotation angle can be detected by utilizing a phase locked loop.
