FILTER MATERIAL FOR FISH FARMING BASIN AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To continuously decompose org. matter contained in water certainly and efficiently by bacteria by smoothly passing water containing a large solid such as fish feces by forming a filter material into a small hexahedron or a shape near thereto. CONSTITUTION:A filter material 60 for a fish farming basin is composed of particles each having a small hexahedral shape or a shape near thereto and thick interstices 70 bent complicatedly communicating with the inside and outside are formed in the filter material 60. When the water in the fish farming basin is passed, said water containing a large solid such as fish feces passes through the thick interstices 70 in the filter material 60 and the large solid is accumulated on the surface of the filter material 60 to prevent the generation of the clogging of the filter material 60. By passing water containing a large solid through the interstices 70, the large solid is repeatedly allowed to impinge against the surface of the filter material 60 to be finely divided and passes through the fine water passages of the filter material 60 along with the circumferential water and can be decomposed into ammonia or carbon dioxide by bacteria living in the filter material 60.
