ACTIVE CARBON FIBER CONTAINING PAPER HAVING PROJECTED PARTS AND ITS LAMINATED BODY

PURPOSE:To improve the adsorbing power of the subject paper by providing a plurality of projected parts on a separate basis on one or both sides of teh active carbon fiber containing paper reinforced with fiber and binder, each adjacent projected part being out of contact. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of projected parts 12a is provided on a separate basis on one or both sides of the active carbon fiber-containing paper 1a reinforced with fiber or binder, each adjacent projected part being out of contact. In this embodiment, the thickness of the paper 1a is 0.5-3mm and the projected part 12a is of semispherical shape, 2-20mm in outside diameter and 0.5-3.5mm in height. Accordingly, the paper has a larger surface area compared to the same size of paper of this kind and hence a greater adsorbing power. A fluid impinges against each of the projected parts individually causing the turbulent flow to facilitate adsorption by this paper and lengthen the contact time.
