PICTURE QUALITY COMPENSATION SYSTEM IN SYSTEM WITH INFORMATION MISSING CAUSED THEREIN

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in picture quality by taking one line as a cell and interpolating it when picture information sent by even and odd number lines is missing in the unit of cells and reproducing the missing. CONSTITUTION:An interpolation section 24 always generates an even number lines between odd number lines and an odd number line between even number lines with the interpolation method and stores the result. A cell missing detection section 22 upon the detection of cell missing informs the information (such as odd number line, even number line and what order of line) of the missing cell to the interpolation section 24. The interpolation section 24 reads out a relevant line from a memory, sends the line to a mixing section 18, from which the line is sent to a monitor 20 in place of the missing cell. Thus, the missing cell is interpolated to display a picture close to the natural picture on the screen.
