PURPOSE: To prevent glucose-mediated collagen cross-link in diabetes patients by means of arginine, spermidine, creatine or agmatine. CONSTITUTION: Pharmaceutical preparation comprising arginine, spermidine, creatine or agmatine or their salt, its analogue as an active ingredient prevents pathological formation of collagen cross-link in diabetes patients. The pharmaceutical preparation is orally administered as capsule or tablet or intravenously administered out of the intestinal canal in the form of a sterilized solution or suspension or topically administered in a form of the sterilized solution or suspension. L-(+)-Arginine is particularly preferable as the arginine.
