1-CHLORO-2,2,3,3-TETRAFLUOROPROPANE AZEOTROPIC MIXTURE AND AZEOTROPIC-LIKE MIXTURE

PURPOSE:To provide a new fluorinated hydrocarbon azeotropic and azeotropic- like mixture useful as an alternate CFC by comprising 1-chloro-2,2,3,3- tetrafluoropropane and 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane. CONSTITUTION:A fluorohydrocarbon azeotropic and azeotropic-like mixture comprises 1-chloro-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropane (R244ca) and 1,1-dichloro-1- fluoroethane (R141b). The mixture is preferably an azeotropic mixture comprising 1-33wt.% of the R244ca and 67-99wt.% of the R141b, especially approximately 13wt.% of the R244ca and approximately 87wt.% of the R141b. The mixture is nonflammable and has the same or more excellent characteristics as or than those of CFCs. Since the mixture has an azeotropic point, the mixture does not cause any change of the composition thereof, can be used in the same manner as a single CFC and is useful as a cleansing solvent.
