PURPOSE:To prevent the color of a magenta color image from being made turbid and to improve the color reproducibility, color developing power and film strength by incorporating a specified polymer coupler latex forming a (co)polymer magenta color image into a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A monomer capable of forming a dye by coupling with the oxidized product of aromatic primary amine as a developing agent is (co)polymerized, and the resulting polymer coupler latex forming a (co)polymer magenta color image is incorporated into a silver halide emulsion layer to obtain the desired color photographic sensitive material. Said monomer is represented by formula I , II or III (where R1 is H, 1-4C alower alkyl or Cl; each of R2, R3 and R4 is H or a substituent; A is -NHCO-, -OCO- or phenylene; B is alkylene, aralkylene or phenylene; X is H or a group which is eliminated by coupling; Y is -O-, -NH-, -S-, -SO- or the like; and each of m and n is 0 or 1), and for example, a monomer represented by formula IV or V is used.
