PURPOSE:To simplify hand shake, by storing a telephone number of another party set and a corresponding mode of the other party in a transmitter. CONSTITUTION:The correspondence mode of a receiver possessed with another party of correspondence is stored in a storage device in the transmitter as a pair with a telephone number of the other party. The other party is designated from an operation key 7 and an original is set to the transmitter. An automatic dial device 12 is operated to set a call with the other party. Further, the hand shake operation is started. When the transmitter detects the 1st response signal from the receiver, the transmitter goes to the next training operation. The transmitter starts the transmission of information immediately, since the receiver knows of the mode, whether it is the GII or the GIII mode.
