PURPOSE:To improve the operability by providing a command table and an argument table, and displaying a command full spelling and an argument in response to an input of a command abbreviated spelling and the prescribed instruction. CONSTITUTION:When an editor is started, an argument table 5 in which correspondence of a command and its argument is stored, and a command table 3 in which the command and its abbreviated form are stored are loaded onto a memory. At the time of coding, when the abbreviated form of the command is inputted from a keyboard 1 and a TRANS key 1-1 is depressed, the abbreviation form of the command is searched from in the command table 3, and a full spelling of a word which conforms is displayed on a display. Also, when the command is displayed on the display and an ARG key 102 is depressed, the command is searched from in the argument table 5, an argument list of the word which confirms is displayed on the display. In such a way, even a beginner can execute coding of a program on the display without looking at a manual.
