PURPOSE:To obtain a titled thin steel sheet having good workability with a new process without including cold rolling and recrystallization annealing by specifying rolling conditions and coiling temp. and subjecting a rolled steel strip to metal hot dipping in a stage for rolling a low carbon steel to a prescribed sheet thickness. CONSTITUTION:The low-carbon steel is rolled in the temp. range of the Ar3 transformation point or below and =500 deg.C and at 35% draft and 300 s-1 strain rate in at least one pass in finish rolling is then coiled at =400 deg.C in the stage of rolling the low-carbon steel to the prescribed sheet thickness. The resulted steel strip is subjected to the metal hot dipping in succession to the above. The plated thin steel sheet having the good workability and the excellent ridging resistance and plating adhesiveness is thus obtd. by the high draft and high strain rate rolling in the above-mentioned temp. range and the coiling at the above-mentioned control temp. without executing not only the conventional cold rolling but also recrystallization annealing.
