PURPOSE:To obtain the titled chromium roll having superior resistance to surface roughness and seizure resistance, by substituting Cu or/and Sn for a part of Cr in an outer shell, by casting so as to integrate the outer shell in which graphite is crystallized out in the structure with an inner shell consisting of high grade cast iron, etc. CONSTITUTION:A high-chromium cast iron with graphite is constituted of, by weight, 2.4-3.4% C, 2.0-4.5% Ni, 2.0-3.4% Si, 5-10% Cr, 0.5-1.5% Mn, 0.5-2.0% Mo, =0.1% P, =0.08% S, 0.5-4% Cu or/and Sn, 0.5.-4.0% Cu or/and Sn substituted for a part of Cr, and the balance essentially Fe. Then the outer shell in which graphite is crystallized out in said cast iron structure and the inner shell (shaft core) consisting of high grade cast iron, ductile cast iron, or graphite cast steel are cast so as to integrate the outer shell and the inner shell, and desired high-chromium roll is obtained.
