PURPOSE:To feed an optical head to an optional address without using any position detector by turning on a tracking servo periodically while feeding the optical head, and reading an address of a disk when the tracking servo is on. CONSTITUTION:A system control part 31 turns off a transistor (TR)37 in normal reproduction to turn on the tracking servo, which outputs a feed motor driving signal when the deviation quantity of a tracking actuator 8 attains to a specific value to drive a feed motor 9 by a specific extent. When the optical head is fed forcibly (e.g. in random access), a DC voltage is applied to the feed motor 9 to feed the optical head 20 continuously, and the TR37 is turned on and off periodically to turn on and off the tracking servo, so that an address read of the optical disk 21 is made when the tracking servo is on.
