PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the enzymic activity of acylcholine acyl hydrolase with a high accuracy, by using an enzymic electrode containing an immobilized membrane of choline oxidase and an oxygen electrode or hydrogen peroxide electrode in combination. CONSTITUTION:A given amount of a sample containing acylcholine acyl hydrolase is added to a buffer solution 3 to hydrolyze the acrylthiocholine in the buffer solution 3 and produce thiocholine in proportion to the activity of the acylcholine acyl hydrolase. The resultant thiocholine is oxidized quantitatively in an immobilized membrane 2 containing immobilized choline oxidase, and oxygen dissolved in the solution 3 is partially consumed to produce hydrogen peroxide, which is then sensed by an oxygen electrode or hydrogen peroxide electrode 1 to measure the activity of the acylcholine acyl hydrolase.
