PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts and facilitate assembly, by a construction wherein a paper bail bar formed by bending a wire is fitted to a fixed part at hinge parts provided at both ends thereof, is held elastically by a holder, and is held against a platen by its own elasticity. CONSTITUTION:The paper bail bar 15 formed by bending a wire can be snapped into place by fitting the hinge parts 19 thereof into holes 18 of support columns 2 by elasticity of arm parts 17 thereof. When the arm parts 17 are turned to the side of the platen 3 and a hook part 20 is engaged into a recessed part 24 of the holder 22, a paper bail part 16 presses a paper against the platen 3 at this position, whereby noises are prevented from being generated at the time of printing. In the case of selectively retracting the bar 15 from the platen 3, the arm parts 17 are pulled by putting a finger in a finger fitting part 21, and the hook part 20 is brought into contact with a stopper piece 25. Accordignly, the number of component parts is reduced, and assembly can be easily performed.
