PURPOSE:A life prolonging solution and flowering solution for cut flowers, containing a thiosulfatosilver complex salt which is an active constituent together with a sulfite and/or hydrogensulfite and capable of maintaining stable effect for a long period without forming precipitates. CONSTITUTION:A life prolonging solution and flowering solution for cut flowers containing 100pts.wt. water-soluble silver salt, e.g. silver nitrate or silver acetate, (A) 1,000pts.wt. water-soluble thiosulfate, e.g. sodium thiosulfate or ammonium thiosulfate, and (B) =10pts.wt. sulfite and/or hydrogensulfite, e.g. Na salt or ammonium salt. Since the above-mentioned life prolonging solution and flowering solution are preferably acidic, an inorganic acid or organic acid or a salt thereof may be suitably incorporated, as necessary, to adjust the solution basicity when the basicity is intensified by compounding.
