摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the intermetallic compound Ti-Al base alloy as a light- weight heat-resistant material having excellent fracture toughness by cooling and solidifying a melt of an intermetallic compound Ti-Al base alloy having specified compsn. at a specified cooling rate. CONSTITUTION:A Ti-Al alloy having the compsn. contg. 31 to 35wt.% Al and the balance Ti is melted, cast in the water-cooled copper mold or a graphite mold and is solidified at =200 deg.C/sec cooling rate. The cast structure is transformed into the stable lamellar one of both intermetallic compounds of a Ti3-Al phase and a Ti-Al phase and the change of the structure is nearly produced even held to a high temp. by which the intermetallic compound Ti-Al base alloy refined material having excellent fracture toughness can be obtd.
