PURPOSE:To make a roller bearing unit compact without reducing its load carrying capacity, by providing direction changing passages which are curved as an arc with regard to the direction of movement of a roller bearing and whose projected figure on a plane perpendicular to said direction is also curved as an arc. CONSTITUTION:In a bearing unit, a casing 3 is guided to straightly move on a track rail 1. Numerous rollers 7 of nearly the same diameter and height are fitted in load carrying regions defined by orbit faces 5, 6 constituting a V-groove of rectangular cross section. The axes of the adjacent rollers 7 have an angle difference of 90 deg.. The casing 3 is provided with return holes 8 parallel with the orbit faces 6. Side plates 13 on both the ends of the casing 3 are provided with direction changing passages 16 curved as an arc. The side plate 13 consists of an upper and a lower plates 13a, 13b. the projected figure of the contact faces 15 of the upper and the lower plates 13a, 13b on a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the track rail 1 is curved as an arc. The projected figure of the direction changing passage 16 on the same plane is also curved as an arc.
