OBSERVATION DEVICE FOR WEAK LUMINOUS PHENOMENON

摘要

PURPOSE:To enable the picture signal of a streak image with a large S/N ratio to be obtained even if an object to be observed shows a weak luminous phenomenon, by superposing the streak image obtained by using a microchannel plate onto the fluorescent screen and by photoelectrically converting, namely, image- picking up the brightness on the obtained fluorescent screen. CONSTITUTION:A sweep voltage applied to a deflecting electrode 33 is synchronous with the output of a dye-laser oscillator 1, while said output is an exciting signal source which develops a fluorescent luminuos phenomenon. Consequently, the streak image of the fluorescent luminous phenomenon is repeatedly superposed and indicated on a certain part of a fluorescent screen 34. The coordinates of brightness and time are overlapped on the fluorescent screen 34 and indicated. For instance, when fluorescence excited with a dye-laser of repeated frequency of 100MHz is superposed for one second, the number of the superposed streak images becomes 108 and measurement of super weak light phenomenon such as producing one photon by 103-104 times of excitation becomes possible. The streak image whose brightness is thus superposed and increased is picked up by a television camera 10.
