PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate positional compensation for a tool by operating tool compensated data corrected on the basis of axial space compensated data corresponding to the detected spindle and storage tool compensated data, and controlling a tool holder based on the tool compensated data. CONSTITUTION:Tool compensated data stored in a central processing unit 4 consist of tool wear compensated data and tool edge R compensated data. In this case, the tool wear compensated data have each forward component of both X and Z-axes. Since axial space compensated data inputted via a data input means 3 also have these X-Z axial components, the sum of these X-Z axial components of tool wear compensated data and the axial space compensated data is operated at the CPU 4, setting the sum of these components and the tool edge R compensated data down to the tool compensated data. Then, servomotors 6a, 6b for these X- and Z-axes are driven by a servomotor drive circuit 5 on the basis of this corrected tool compensated data, and thereby a slide 10 is controlled.
