PURPOSE:To stabilize the supply of hydrogen to an engine so as to make it possible to smoothly drive the whole system by controlling the heat medium temperature of the opening of a container for keeping in constant and adjusting the quantity of heat mediums which circulate into the container so as to control the generating pressure of hydrogen for keeping it constant. CONSTITUTION:A temperature controller 17 adjusts the quantity of heat gains so that the heat medium temperature of the opening of a hydrogen-occlusive alloy container 5 is almost elevated to its upper limit. An adjusting valve 15 adjusts the discharge of heat mediums which are caused to pass through the container 5, so that the pressure of hydrogen generated is kept at its preset value. In addition, a by-pass valve 16 is provided for preventing circulation of the heat mediums from being stopped. Provided the capacity of its heat source is sufficient, therefore, the heat medium temperature is constantly maintained at its maximum value, and the adjustment of the quantity of heat to the container 5 is performed by varying the discharge of the heat mediums to be forced to flow through the container 5.
